Long Term Care and Veteran Care Benefits in Pittsburgh, PA
Veteran Care and Long Term Care payment options for those who qualify
Care for a loved one is a necessary expense but it can be a costly one. There are a variety of supplemental veteran care payment options out there that we suggest to our clients. We recommend reading about Long term care insurance and the Veteran’s Aid and Attendance Benefit to see if you qualify.
Long Term Care Insurance
Our office provides personal care, home-making and incidental transportation services to many clients and veterans who have Long Term Care Insurance (LTC). We have worked with many LTC companies including John Hancock, SHIP (Conseco), CNA, UNUM, MetLife, Penn Treaty and several others. Comfort Keepers will work with the LTC companies to provide the required initial documentation and then assist the client on filing claims on an on-going basis. We suggest that anyone wanting to use their benefits for services contact their insurance provider to review their policy coverage's. If you have any questions concerning our veteran care services in conjunction with using your LTC insurance please call us at (412) 204-7853.
Our in-home care services are available to military veterans through several Veterans Administration (VA) Programs. The Aid and Attendance benefit is available to wartime service veterans and their surviving spouses and provides a monthly pension to help pay for home senior care or assisted living services. We are happy to assist you in contacting the appropriate office in your area to learn more about this benefit and the eligibility requirements. Our home health agency will be happy to provide the required documentation from our agency to assist you in completing the application.
Our office is also a provider agency for The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System’s Homemaker/Home Health Aide Program for veterans. The goal of this program is to provide non-medical services to veterans, in need of long term care assistance, in their homes as an alternative to placement. Eligibility for this program requires you to be in need of assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's) in your home, and you must be followed by a Primary Care Provider with the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System. For more information about veteran care and VA benefit services contact Karen Meszaros at (412) 204-7853 or firstname.lastname@example.org
